Uniform Commercial Code Filings (UCC) is a very low-to-low risk legal event that allows creditors to notify other creditors about debtor's assets used as collateral in a secured transaction. When a borrower takes out a loan, the creditor files a UCC lien that establishes its right to take specified assets, equipment, or collateral if the borrower defaults. All UCC filings will be visible from the last five years. Creditsafe receives data monthly from the Secretary of State Offices.
